IPL 2027 auction set for December 16 in Goa

The IPL 2027 mini-auction is set for December 16 in Goa, according to BCCI secretary Devajit Saikia.

It will be the first auction in India in four years, after recent editions were held in Dubai, Jeddah and Abu Dhabi.

All 10 franchises must submit retained and released player lists by November 15 as they prepare for the auction.

The date also matches an India-Sri Lanka ODI scheduled in Bengaluru, and it is unclear whether either event’s date will change.

The BCCI is seeking feedback from teams on the Impact Player rule, which lets sides bring in a substitute during a match and has drawn criticism from players.

The board has yet to make a decision on the rule’s future, and the auction’s date and venue were still awaiting formal written confirmation in some accounts.
