Turkish carpet exports exceed $2 billion in the first nine months of 2026

Türkiye earned $2.017 billion from carpet exports in the first nine months of 2026, shipping to 186 countries and free zones.

Machine-made carpets brought in the most, at $1.56 billion, followed by tufted, handmade and kilim carpets.

The United States was the largest single market, with exports reaching $448 million, up 16.6 percent from a year earlier.

Saudi Arabia and the United Kingdom were the next-largest destinations, with exports also rising in both markets.

The sector’s export earnings stayed near last year’s level despite the global challenges described by the industry board chair.

He said raw-material and logistics problems, conflicts near the Strait of Hormuz and the Russia-Ukraine war limited growth.

Türkiye’s original $3.5 billion export target was cut because of transport disruptions and rising costs, and the sources give no revised target.
