USS Abraham Lincoln set to move from San Diego to Bremerton

The USS Abraham Lincoln is scheduled to move its home port from San Diego to Bremerton by the end of 2026.

The Navy set Dec.

31 as the administrative date for the change, which will take the aircraft carrier to Naval Base Kitsap in Washington.

The crew returned to San Diego on Oct.

8 after a 10-month deployment that was extended twice.

About 5,000 sailors spent 321 days away from home, including 40 days of combat operations against Iran.

The move is planned to give the carrier time for maintenance and upgrades and to prepare it for future missions.

Sailors and their families are preparing to relocate individually, while managing housing, work and school arrangements after the deployment.

The Navy says the crew and families will receive support from their chain of command and permanent-change-of-station resources.
