Singapore couple run a private dining pizzeria from their HDB flat

Sheralyn Tay and David Shen run PXZA from their Yishun flat in Singapore, where they host paid pizza dinners for guests.

The couple, both 45, started the home-based pizzeria during the pandemic after trying to make Neapolitan-style pizza for themselves.

Their dinners use an omakase-style menu, with fresh ingredients and several courses built around pizza.

They balance the business with their day jobs and prepare food in a limited kitchen space.

Home-business rules mean they cannot hire outside help, so they manage the dinners themselves.

Tay says she can host up to 10 to 12 diners, and the couple usually hold dinners on Fridays and Saturdays.

Their challenge is keeping the meals on track despite tight preparation time and last-minute changes to the guest list.
