Jane Seymour and Joe Lando Recall Falling in Love on ‘Dr. Quinn’ Set

Actors Jane Seymour and Joe Lando recalled falling in love while filming Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman at a reunion panel in Hartford, Connecticut.

Seymour played Dr. Michaela Quinn, and Lando played Byron Sully, her love interest in the CBS series.

Early in filming, a flash flood led Lando to help Seymour escape in his pickup truck.

Afterward, they went for Mexican food and margaritas and realized their feelings were real.

Their real romance ended not long afterward, partly because they wanted different things for the future.

The series ran for six seasons, from 1993 to 1998, and its story also included a romance between their characters.

The former couple remain close but have separate partners: Lando has been married to Kristen since 1997, and Seymour is engaged to physician John Zambetti.
