Tshuma’s South African court case delayed for mental health evaluation

Ndodana Mkhanyisi Tshuma’s South African court case was adjourned until Oct.

29, 2026, after he said he could not remember pleading guilty.

Tshuma is wanted by British police over the killings of his wife and two daughters.

He appeared at a magistrate court in Johannesburg, where he had previously pleaded guilty to possessing a firearm and ammunition illegally and to an immigration offense.

The immigration charge relates to entering South Africa while he was a fugitive.

His defense says a mental health evaluation may be needed because he also said he did not remember signing a plea agreement.

The court proceedings cannot move ahead until this issue is addressed, although the state prosecutor said the state was ready to proceed.

His lawyer said he would see Tshuma after a week and would seek an evaluation if Tshuma continued to say he did not remember the plea.
