Clessidra acquires 70% of Italian food producer Citres

Clessidra has acquired a 70% stake in Citres, an Italian company that makes vegetable preserves, pestos and other foods.

Citres is based in Bovolone, in the province of Verona, and was founded in 1958.

The Compri family sold most of the company, while Lorena and Davide Compri will continue to lead its operations.

Citres reported revenue of €40 million in 2025, up from €27 million in 2021, and about 40% of its revenue comes from exports.

The new majority owner and the family aim to expand sales abroad, where demand for Italian-style products such as pesto is growing.

Citres plans to double production, with its factory expansion targeted to be operational by late 2028.
