Urovesa plans AX6 production next year as it doubles vehicle capacity
Spanish defence vehicle maker Urovesa plans to begin AX6 production next year after developing the new six-wheel-drive model.
The AX6 can carry more weight and offer more space and protection than the AX4, allowing it to carry troops or heavier systems.
Urovesa is based in Santiago de Compostela and has a production site in Valga, in Pontevedra province.
The company expects its 2026 revenue to reach 160 million euros, up from 137 million euros in 2025.
It is also expanding its Valga site, where a new line is expected to double annual capacity to 5,000 vehicles and create about 150 jobs.
The new line is due to be operational in the second quarter of next year.
Urovesa is also working on remote-controlled and partly automated vehicles as it seeks to expand its business in defence and international markets.
Urovesa expects to start producing its new AX6 vehicle around the middle of next year.
A new production line is due to become operational in the second quarter of next year, doubling annual capacity from 2,500 vehicles to 5,000.
The expansion is expected to create about 150 jobs.
The company forecasts revenue of €160 million in 2026, up 17% from the previous year.
Urovesa says its order portfolio for the coming years is approaching €1 billion, although its president cautioned that not all of it represents contracts.

What people are saying
That open architecture defines us; the same vehicle is multifunctional, meaning it can perform many different missions.
I think we will reach a record volume, although that billion euros is not made up of contracts in the way the VERT is.
