Katherine man claims $5 million Set for Life prize

A man from Katherine in the Northern Territory has claimed a $5 million Set for Life lottery prize.

He saw a social media post saying officials were looking for the winner and checked his ticket.

The ticket was bought at Eastside Mini Mart on Grevillea Road and was not registered, so lottery officials could not contact him.

He was the only division one winner across Australia in draw 4092.

The prize is paid as $20,000 a month for 20 years, with $200,000 paid upfront.

The winner said he was overwhelmed and that helping his family is a priority.

The sources give no further plans for how he will use the money.

It's great to see a win land in town - it's a really positive for the Katherine community to know someone local has won.
