Chef Gennaro Contaldo says he recovered phone after market snatching

TV chef Gennaro Contaldo says a young woman snatched his phone at Walthamstow market in east London.

The 77-year-old says he jumped back, pinned her down and found two phones in her pocket.

He identified one as his and took it back, then let her go.

Contaldo did not say when the incident happened.

He says he now travels with two phones because tickets, appointments and bank cards are often stored on them.

Losing a phone can disrupt everyday tasks, he said.
