Ishikawa Hiroshi Returns With First Feature in 13 Years

Japanese filmmaker Ishikawa Hiroshi is making his first feature in 13 years with “the blue we touch.”

The ensemble drama follows former friends and the feelings between people, as several characters face work, art and personal memories.

Nao plays Mitsu, a contract web designer who wants a permanent job and is drawn to Fujino, her company’s human resources manager.

Karata Erika plays Ayane, who works nights while preparing to become a public prosecutor, and agrees to model for art student Tomoki.

The film is in post-production after Ishikawa wrote, directed and edited it.

Bitters End plans to release it in Japan in 2027.
