Riftbound’s Radiance set adds three new card mechanics
Radiance is the fifth set for Riftbound, a trading card game based on League of Legends.
It introduces three mechanics: Disarm, Show Off and Deploy.
Disarm weakens an enemy unit when a unit with the ability attacks.
Show Off gives a card an extra effect if its player reveals a qualifying card to the opponent.
Deploy lets players put certain Gear cards directly onto a battlefield, where they have an effect but are removed if the opponent takes control of that battlefield.
Executive producer Chengran Chai said Deploy could disrupt established strategies because players have not usually been able to place Gear directly on battlefields.
The new mechanics are intended to give players more tactical choices, including whether to reveal information or use Gear to influence control of a battlefield.
Radiance, Riftbound’s fifth set and final release of the year, introduces three new mechanics: Disarm, Show Off and Deploy.
Disarm reduces an enemy unit’s Might when a unit with the keyword attacks.
Show Off gives a card an additional effect when its player reveals a qualifying card to the opponent.
Deploy lets Gear go directly to a Battlefield, where it provides an effect but is killed if the opponent holds that Battlefield.
Riftbound executive producer Chengran Chai said Deploy could change how players think about defending.

This story does not have two clearly opposing sides.
I think Deploy is probably the one that will disrupt [the meta], because historically, you don't think of just going straight to a battlefield,
Show Off basically opens up another dimension to the kind of like, 3D, 4D chess–that’s 5D.
