China’s 2026 Ocean Economy Expo opens in Shenzhen

The 2026 China Ocean Economy Expo opened in Shenzhen on October 22.

The event, which has been held in Shenzhen since 2019, brings together participants in China’s ocean economy and international blue-economy cooperation.

This year’s theme is using digital technology to explore the deep sea and build the future.

Organisers said the expo has more than 350 exhibitors and covers about 50,000 square metres, both records for the event.

At the opening, officials presented the main points of China’s 2026 ocean economy development report and signed agreements on China-France ocean research and cooperation between Hainan and Shenzhen.

The expo also includes investment events, industry meetings and a forum for ocean-focused cities.

Its organisers say the event is intended to create more opportunities for cooperation and ocean-sector growth.
