Onorato presents proposals and signals possible run in centre-left primaries
Progetto Civico Italia presented a draft programme at a three-day gathering in Rome.
More than 850 people involved in the movement’s 20 working groups developed over 400 proposals in four months.
The proposals cover areas including housing, health, education, agriculture and security, and are intended to contribute to a broader centre-left coalition.
Onorato says primaries are needed to choose the coalition’s leader, rather than make the contest a direct match between two party leaders.

A movement member will take part in the primaries, and Onorato has not ruled out running himself.

What people are saying
One of us will certainly be there; it is not automatic that I will do it, I do not rule out standing, we will see
The primaries are fundamental because we have to identify who the leader of the whole centre-left is. It must not be a competition between parties.
The majority of Italians do not want to vote for Meloni. Then there is another majority that does not want to vote for any party, to whom we should say: Look, we have a new formula, you could vote for it.
When they tell you it cannot be done, it is time to make it happen
