Riyadh’s Kingdom Centre orders office workers to work remotely
Riyadh’s Kingdom Centre ordered office tenants to work remotely from Oct.
18 until further notice.
The 99-storey tower in Saudi Arabia’s capital gave no reason for the order, while its mall remains open.
The move follows security alerts and drone interceptions near Riyadh, amid a renewed conflict between Saudi Arabia and Yemen’s Houthi group.
A major attack last week killed 13 people, and the capital’s airport remains closed.
The Houthis and the Saudi-led coalition have exchanged attacks as the conflict intensifies after a four-year truce.
The coalition said two helicopter pilots died in Najran near the Yemen border because of a technical malfunction, while the Houthis said they had shot down a helicopter there.
Egypt’s Parliament postponed a vote on military support for Saudi Arabia until Oct.
19, after President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi asked lawmakers to authorise it.
