Broadcasters gather for Dermot Murnaghan memorial service in London
Broadcasters gathered at St Bride’s Church in London on Thursday for a memorial service for Dermot Murnaghan.
Good Morning Britain presenter Susanna Reid and Sky News journalists Beth Rigby and Mark Austin were among those attending.
Murnaghan died aged 68 on 11 July following an illness with prostate cancer, which he had publicly said was incurable but treatable.
He first announced a stage four diagnosis in 2025.
He spent decades presenting news for Channel 4, ITV, the BBC and Sky News, including 15 years as a lead anchor at Sky.
Murnaghan urged men at higher risk to get checked after saying he had delayed his own test because he felt fine.
His colleagues remembered his work and character at the service; no further plans were announced.
