Iran’s leader warns U.S. and Israel against renewed attacks

Iran’s Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei warned the United States and Israel against launching new attacks on Saturday.

He said Iran’s armed forces and people would decide when and how any response would end.

Khamenei ordered commanders to update Iran’s target list and said threats should draw an immediate response.

He became supreme leader after his father, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, was killed in U.S.-Israeli strikes at the start of the war in February.

The war began with U.S.-Israeli strikes on Iran, which then attacked countries across the region.

Diplomatic efforts are under way to prevent renewed fighting, with a Qatari delegation in Tehran and regional contacts involving Iran and the United States.

Iran had reportedly received a letter from U.S. Vice President JD Vance but had not yet responded, while talks continued.
