BYD launches redesigned Seagull EV in China from RMB 65,900
BYD has launched the second-generation Seagull electric car in China at prices from RMB 65,900 to RMB 99,900.
The hatchback now has five seats instead of four and more cabin space.
It switches from front-wheel drive to rear-wheel drive and has a more powerful motor and upgraded rear suspension.
Buyers can choose versions with CLTC-rated ranges of 320 km or 420 km.
Higher trims support BYD’s flash charging, which the company says can charge the battery from 10% to 70% in five minutes at compatible stations.
Some higher-spec versions also offer lidar and the DiPilot 300 driver-assistance system.
The new model is on sale in China, while an overseas launch is described as expected, potentially under the Dolphin Surf or Dolphin Mini names.
