Canadian marathon titles up for grabs at Toronto Waterfront race

Canadian marathon titles up for grabs at Toronto Waterfront race

Canada’s top marathoners will compete for national titles at this weekend’s TCS Toronto Waterfront Marathon.

The race also hosts the Athletics Canada Canadian Marathon Championship, with an $8,000 winner’s prize.

World Athletics ranking points could help runners qualify for the 2027 World Championships in Beijing.

Defending women’s champion Rachel Hannah faces past champion Dayna Pidhoresky, while Cleo Boyd and Florence Caron are making their marathon debuts.

Thomas Broatch and Tristan Woodfine lead the men’s title contenders, with Lee Wesselius and John Gay also among the Canadians to watch.

Several contenders are returning after illness or injury disrupted their 2025 races.

The championship results will decide this year’s Canadian titles, while the prize money and ranking points are also at stake.
