The Hunter’s Moon will be visible across the UK this weekend
October’s full Hunter’s Moon will be visible in the UK from Sunday night, 25 October, into Monday morning.
The Moon will rise just after 16:00 GMT on Sunday and officially reach its full phase at 04:11 GMT on Monday, though it should look full on both nights.
It is the 11th full Moon of 2026 and the last before four consecutive supermoons.
The name comes from the time of year when hunters prepared for winter, and the Moon’s long time in the sky provided extra light.
Cloud and rain may limit views in parts of Scotland and north-west England, while other areas are expected to have better chances early in the night.
The Orionid meteor shower is also still active, but moonlight may make some shooting stars harder to see.
