Rangers want to keep Nico Raskin as January uncertainty remains
Rangers manager Derek McInnes wants to keep Nico Raskin, the 25-year-old Belgium midfielder, at the Scottish club.
Raskin was linked with a move away last summer after the World Cup, and he was left out of some matches while his future was uncertain.
No suitable offer arrived before the transfer window closed, and Raskin has since become a regular in the team.
He says he is happy at Rangers, which he credits with helping him join Belgium’s national team, but he does not know what may happen in January.
Raskin’s current contract runs until the summer of 2028, and McInnes says he would be open to the player staying longer.
The club says it does not want to sell key players in January, though McInnes notes that a large offer could change the situation.
Rangers next face St Johnstone at home after drawing 2-2 with Dundee.
