Gunwi completes first phase of 81-hole park golf course

Gunwi County in South Korea completed the first phase of its Samguk Yusa Park Golf Course on October 16.

The site in Uiheung-myeon now has 81 holes for park golf, a recreational sport enjoyed by local residents and clubs.

The county plans to add 99 more holes, bringing the planned total to 180.

The course is being developed both for local recreation and to attract visitors from across the country.

County officials hope visitor spending will support local businesses and tourism.

The facility is expected to open officially in the first half of 2027, after a trial operation.
