Paco Arango presents his first book in Mexico City
Paco Arango returned to Mexico City to present his first book, a collection of memories from his work with seriously ill children.
The book describes experiences he calls “diosidencias,” or coincidences he sees as signs of a higher power, but he says it is not a religious book.
Arango founded the Aladina Foundation in 2005 after volunteering at a children’s hospital in Madrid.
The foundation now works with 22 public hospitals in Spain, supporting children and families and funding hospital improvements.
In Mexico, all book royalties will go to Casa de la Amistad and HITO, a children’s oncology hospital in Querétaro, and Arango also announced donations to them.
The support matters in a country where one in two children with cancer dies, according to the story.
Paco Arango presented his first book, Si no crees en Dios, te doy su teléfono, in Mexico City.
The book reached eighth place among the best-selling books in Spain, according to Hola.
Arango’s royalties from the book in Mexico will go to Casa de la Amistad para Niños con Cáncer and the Hospital Infantil Teletón de Oncología in Querétaro.
He said the book draws on memories of children he accompanied near the end of their lives and is not a religious book.
