Putin warns Ukraine over strikes on Russian marketplaces and other sites

At a business forum on October 15, Vladimir Putin said Russia was responding to Ukrainian strikes on Russian sites.

He referred to warehouses belonging to online marketplaces Wildberries and Ozon, as well as energy facilities and data centers.

Putin said Ukraine had taken the first step and should have considered the consequences.

He also said Ukraine asks its foreign supporters to pressure Russia when Russian strikes follow.

The remarks come amid attacks on infrastructure in both countries, including Russian attacks on Ukrainian data centers and other facilities.

Putin did not make clear which data center strikes he meant.

He has called for proposals to improve digital security, but the sources do not say what specific actions Russia will take next.

They took the first step. We began responding. Now they are also whining about energy facilities and other targets, including data centers and so on. They started it. They should not have done so. Before taking that step, they should have thought carefully about the consequences.
