Bruno Guillon takes time off after sudden sound spike on Fun Radio

Bruno Guillon was hurt by a sudden sound spike in his earpiece while presenting live on Fun Radio in France on 15 October.

It happened near the end of his morning show, as he was handing over to the next programme.

Guillon said on air that he could not hear, then passed the broadcast to his colleagues.

The incident forced the morning team off air on 16 October, and Fun Radio played a highlights programme instead.

Early information pointed to a technical fault in one of the studio consoles, but the other team members were not affected.

The sudden volume surge is being investigated through a technical audit at the station.

The audit is intended to clarify how the fault occurred.

Excuse me, I had a sound accident. Someone sent a thousand decibels of sound into my headset. And I’m deaf, actually.
