Analysts See Indonesia’s Stock Index at Risk of Further Losses

Analysts expect Indonesia’s IHSG stock index to remain under pressure on Friday, though one sees a chance of an early rise before further losses.

The index fell 1.33% to 5,863 on Thursday, with 567 stocks down, 108 up and 120 unchanged.

MNC Sekuritas analyst Herditya Wicaksana said the index could fall to between 5,744 and 5,794, but might first rise as high as 5,864–5,883.

Binaartha Sekuritas analyst Ivan Rosanova said a Friday close at 5,850 or higher could make a rebound next week more likely.

He said Friday’s close would help indicate the index’s next direction.

These are analysts’ forecasts, not a certainty about how the market will move.
