Cata Coll wins the Yashin Trophy as the season’s top goalkeeper
Cata Coll won the Yashin Trophy as the best goalkeeper of the 2025/26 season at the Ballon d’Or ceremony in London.
The 25-year-old Mallorca-born player represents Barcelona and Spain.
In her speech, she thanked her family, teammates and others who helped her, and said the award belonged to them too.
Her parents, Fernando and Antònia, were at the ceremony and said her words moved them deeply.
They spent about an hour with her after the event, though the busy ceremony left little time for a quiet conversation.
The award is only in its second women’s edition, and Coll is the first Barcelona goalkeeper to win it.
Coll is under contract with Barcelona until June 2029.
