Bones likely belong to woman missing since 2007, German police say

Kerstin Lee Langley disappeared from Regensburg in 2007, when she was 39.

Police now believe she was killed, after a 56-year-old woman confessed and identified possible burial sites.

Bones found near Berg bei Neumarkt likely belong to Langley, according to forensic tests, though a final result is still pending.

Investigators say three people are suspected of killing her together; one has died, and a 66-year-old man is in custody.

The woman’s detention order has been suspended after she gave investigators detailed information.

The case had gone cold after earlier leads failed to produce enough evidence to act.

Investigations are continuing, including a search at another possible site that has so far found nothing.
