Nintendo says it does not plan further Switch 2 price increases
Nintendo says it is not planning another Switch 2 price increase after raising the console's price earlier this year.
Nintendo president Shuntaro Furukawa said the company has access to enough memory to make more consoles.
The Switch 2 is Nintendo's current console, and the company has sold 26 million units so far.
The earlier increase took effect in the US, Canada, Japan and Europe on September 1, raising prices by $50, €30 or ¥10,000.
Memory shortages have pushed up console prices across the industry, with PlayStation and Xbox also raising prices.
Nintendo's latest financial figures showed Switch 2 sales were down more than 37% year on year, while operating profit fell 16%.
For now, Nintendo says no further price change is under consideration.
Nintendo President Shuntaro Furukawa said the company is not considering further price increases for the Switch 2.
He said Nintendo has access to sufficient quantities of memory and that the memory situation has not changed significantly.
The console’s price was raised earlier in 2026, with the increases taking effect on 1 September in several markets, according to Eurogamer.
Reports differ on Switch 2 sales, with NME citing more than 23 million consoles sold and Eurogamer reporting 26 million.
