Saudi Arabia suspends travel to and from Kenya over Ebola precautions
Saudi Arabia has suspended travel to and arrivals from Kenya as a precaution against Ebola.
The move is part of additional measures to limit risks linked to the virus.
The Saudi Public Health Authority, known as Weqaya, said the health situation in the kingdom is reassuring.
It said health conditions are being monitored closely and continuously.
Weqaya is tracking developments in the region and internationally, and coordinating with relevant authorities inside and outside Saudi Arabia.
The precautions are intended to protect public health and strengthen readiness to respond.
The authority said it will adjust preventive measures as the epidemiological situation develops.
Saudi Arabia has suspended travel by its citizens to Kenya and barred arrivals from the country over Ebola outbreak risks.
The measures also halt all types of visa issuance to travelers from Kenya.
Travelers arriving through third countries are barred if they stayed in Kenya or another Ebola-affected country in the 21 days before arrival.
Saudi Arabia says the measures followed an assessment by health authorities.
