AstraZeneca opens cancer drug production line in Russia
AstraZeneca opened a new cancer drug production line on November 2 at its plant in the Kaluga Region of Russia.
The facility is in Vorsino Industrial Park, where the company already makes 11 medicines, seven through full-cycle production.
The new line uses sealed equipment to handle highly potent cancer substances.
AstraZeneca said the site is its third in the world to use this type of technology.
It will initially make a targeted drug registered in Russia for cancers linked to BRCA1/2 gene mutations, including breast, ovarian, prostate and pancreatic cancer.
