Prasidh Krishna expected to miss India’s New Zealand ODI series

India fast bowler Prasidh Krishna is expected to miss the New Zealand ODI series as he recovers from a hamstring injury.

The five-match series is due to begin on November 4.

Krishna was injured during a one-day series against West Indies and is recovering at the BCCI’s Centre of Excellence in Bengaluru.

He is scheduled for fitness and match-simulation tests on November 1 and 2, but reports differ on whether he is already ruled out or whether his availability will be decided after those tests.

Team management wants him fit for the two-Test series against New Zealand, where it believes he is more needed.

Jammu and Kashmir fast bowler Aaqib Nabi is a possible replacement and is listed in India’s squad for the final two ODIs.

The immediate next step is Krishna’s fitness assessment, while India’s first ODI is scheduled for November 4.
