Rahm leaves LIV Golf, hopes to return to PGA Tour
Jon Rahm is leaving LIV Golf after deciding he did not want to follow the league’s plans for its next phase, called LIV 2.0.
The Spanish golfer said he enjoyed his time with LIV but felt the changes moved away from team golf and brought too many unknowns.
LIV’s bankruptcy process is allowing Rahm to end his contract, and a judge is expected to approve his departure later this week.
Rahm is now hoping to return to the US-based PGA Tour, which bars former LIV players for a year after their last appearance.
He has not yet started talks with the PGA Tour, and said he doubts he would be offered the same return terms as Brooks Koepka.
Koepka paid $5 million to charity and was barred from the PGA Tour’s player equity programme for five years, among other sanctions.
Rahm could instead serve a one-year suspension and play on the DP World Tour, where he remains a member and eligible for next year’s Ryder Cup.

What people are saying
I wasn’t thrilled with the changes they were doing to 2.0 and I just wasn’t willing to follow that path
But it’s a big if
I don't know if the possibility of that would be open for me or not.
I seriously doubt I get offered the same deal that Brooks did, but if I got offered exactly the same penalties as him, I probably would do it, yes.

Jon Rahm admits he would be open to taking a similar deal to Brooks Koepka in order to return to the @PGATour in 2027. (Note, Rahm was offered the same deal in January 2026 but did not accept) Koepka's deal.... • $5m donation to charity • No FedEx Cup bonus money in his
