Bahlil Orders Faster Review of Gresik LPG Refinery Permit

Bahlil Orders Faster Review of Gresik LPG Refinery Permit

Indonesia’s energy minister Bahlil Lahadalia told officials not to delay refinery permit extensions.

His instruction was directed to staff at the Energy Ministry and SKK Migas, Indonesia’s oil and gas regulator.

It follows a pending request from PT Energi Nusantara Perkasa to extend operations at its Gresik LPG refinery in East Java.

Bahlil said applications that meet technical and regulatory requirements should reach his desk within a week, and he would sign them.

The refinery supplies LPG for Indonesia’s national needs, and the company says continued operations depend on reliable gas supplies and a smooth technical review.

Officials must now process the request if it meets the requirements, but no decision on the extension has been announced.

We also ask for the Minister’s support and guidance for the extension of the operating period, or life extension, of the Gresik LPG refinery so this facility, which contributes to national LPG production, can continue to be used optimally.
