Fujitsu’s half-year net profit falls 68% as last year’s sale gain fades
Fujitsu reported net profit fell 68% in the six months from April to September 2026, to about 82.6 billion yen.
The Japanese technology company’s revenue rose 4% to about 1.63 trillion yen, while adjusted operating profit fell 6.1%.
A large part of the profit drop came because last year’s subsidiary share-sale gain did not recur.
Its IT services business remained steady, and its main services division grew in sales and profit.
Higher parts costs hurt profit in system products, while demand linked to Windows 10 upgrades eased from the previous year.
Fujitsu said demand for its security services is growing as cyberattacks on companies increase, and it started offering services through a new security organisation in October.
The company kept its full-year forecast unchanged, including expected net profit of 310 billion yen for the year ending March 2027.
Fujitsu’s net profit fell 68% in April–September 2026 to about 82.6 billion yen.
The decline largely reflected the absence of a subsidiary share-sale gain recorded in the same period a year earlier.
Revenue rose 4% to about 1.63 trillion yen, while operating profit was 107.6 billion yen, up 2%, under the figures reported by Nikkei.
IT services remained steady, while higher component costs weighed on hardware and weaker Windows 10 replacement demand affected ubiquitous solutions.
