Cheonan hospital tops emergency center evaluation in central South Korea

Soonchunhyang University Cheonan Hospital scored 95.4 in South Korea’s 2026 evaluation of regional emergency medical centers.

The hospital had the highest score in Daejeon and the two Chungcheong provinces, according to evaluation data from the Ministry of Health and Welfare.

The review considered treatment records and operating plans from 80 centers that applied, and 53 were designated.

Since 2023, the hospital has recorded above-average rates of providing final treatment in all 18 key groups of serious illness for three consecutive years.

This indicates it can provide care such as surgery and procedures for patients with severe emergencies.

The hospital says it will continue to strengthen its ability to treat these patients and support the regional emergency care system.
