Talking Heads announce book with essays and archive material
All four members of Talking Heads have collaborated on a new book, called Talking Heads: New Feeling.
It is due out on May 18, the 50th anniversary of their debut album, Talking Heads: 77.
The book will include essays by David Byrne, Tina Weymouth, Jerry Harrison and Chris Frantz, as well as contributions from other writers and artists.
It will also bring together handwritten lyrics, album sketches and private photos, including material that has been kept in the band’s archive for decades.
The book traces the group’s story from its beginnings at art school in Rhode Island to New York’s punk and new-wave scene.
It also includes behind-the-scenes photos from the concert film Stop Making Sense.
