Cyberattack destroys Beget cloud infrastructure, leaving some data unrecoverable

A cyberattack hit Russian hosting provider Beget overnight on November 1-2.

The company says the attack destroyed its cloud infrastructure and caused data loss.

Beget has restored more than 60% of its hosting, but says all VPS data cannot be recovered.

File backups are available for only half of VPS users, and restoring them takes time because the company must match data to customer accounts.

Beget is rebuilding its cloud infrastructure and bringing back parts of its control panel, including tools for domains, databases and websites.

The company said it planned to connect the first new cloud servers within one to two days of its November 6 update.
