Cyberattack on BAE Systems disrupts US bankruptcy court notices

A cyberattack on BAE Systems has disrupted a system used by federal bankruptcy courts across the United States.

The Bankruptcy Noticing Center produces and sends notices related to bankruptcy cases.

The attack halted notice production and made the center’s systems and related websites unavailable.

The Administrative Office of the U.S. Courts is coordinating with BAE, which is investigating the incident and working to restore operations.

Officials have not said whether data was stolen or provided further details about the attack.

The disruption comes after federal court officials said last year they were strengthening protections for sensitive case documents following another attack on court systems.
