Ratatan brings Patapon-style rhythm battles to new platforms
Ratatan is a rhythm-action game led by developers who previously worked on Patapon, a PlayStation Portable series.
In Ratatan, players conduct an army of small creatures called Coburn through 2D worlds filled with monsters.
Players enter button combinations in time with the music to give orders, such as marching or attacking.
The game also includes special attacks, shields and jumps, and positioning helps players avoid incoming attacks.
Its bright cartoon style and music recall Patapon, but the reviewer says the commands and timing options do not make the gameplay very deep.
The game is leaving early access on Oct.
15 and will be available for Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, Windows PC and Xbox Series X.
