CM Punk challenges Grayson Waller for NXT Championship

Grayson Waller retained the NXT Championship by defeating Tony D’Angelo in the Halloween Havoc main event.

Waller won after using a crowbar while the referee was unable to make a count.

CM Punk then challenged Waller for the title in a message shown after the match.

Punk said he had waited until Waller had defended the championship and challenged him to face him on Wednesday’s NXT.

The title match is set for Wednesday’s show, which is scheduled to go head-to-head with AEW’s Blood & Guts.

Waller had won the championship from D’Angelo in a four-way match at Heatwave in August, and Halloween Havoc was only his second title defense.

Punk now has a chance to take the championship from Waller, while the rest of Wednesday’s show also includes a women’s title open challenge and John Cena’s appearance.
