Samsung Life unveils AI-based care model for older adults
Samsung Life unveiled an AI-based care model for older adults at a technology exhibition in Seoul.
The service is designed to help people continue living in their own homes while receiving health monitoring and care support.
Wearable devices and sensors in the home collect information about daily routines, which the system uses to assess risks and spot changes.
If it detects an unusual pattern, staff can check it and contact family members or local care services; people needing medical assessment can be referred to a nearby hospital.
A pilot in Hwaseong's Dongtan area will run through December with local health and hospital partners to test how the system works in practice.
The move comes as insurers look beyond insurance to services such as care and health support for an ageing population.
Samsung Life unveiled an AI-based care model that links older adults’ daily health monitoring with local care and medical services.
The Senior Connected Care model uses wearable devices and sensors in the home to assess daily-life information and detect unusual changes.
If a change is detected, a monitoring staff member checks it and can connect the person with family, local care services or a regional hospital.
Samsung Life is testing the model in Dongtan, Hwaseong, with local health and medical partners through December.
The company presented the model at the AI Expo MARS 2026 in Seoul.
