Türkiye and Saudi Arabia sign education cooperation agreement

Türkiye’s Education Minister Yusuf Tekin and Saudi Arabia’s Education Minister Yusuf Bin Abdullah Al-Benyan signed an education cooperation agreement at a ceremony at Türkiye’s education ministry.

The deal aims to expand visits by teachers, students and education experts, as well as professional development for education staff and joint research.

It also covers special education, education technology, distance learning and the development of teaching materials.

The countries plan to support Turkish and Arabic language teaching and work together on recognizing education qualifications and certificates.

The agreement also aims to make school opening and permit processes easier.

The ministers said closer cooperation matters amid conflict and other pressures, and noted that artificial intelligence should fit religious and national values in education.
