Delhi High Court proposes grievance cell for Hockey India

The Delhi High Court proposed a grievance cell within Hockey India to handle issues linked to the federation.

The proposal came while the court considered a petition by Hockey India president Dilip Tirkey about the election process.

The upcoming elections will be observed by retired Supreme Court Justice A.K. Sikri, whom the court named for that role.

Tirkey said the elections were announced at executive board meetings that were illegal and lacked his approval under Hockey India’s rules.

The cell would provide a formal way to consider and address grievances, but its membership and powers have not been set out.

The court’s detailed order is still pending, so the cell’s final structure and Sikri’s proposed role as its chairperson remain subject to further directions.
