Volkswagen plans to export 300,000 cars a year from China by 2030
Volkswagen plans to export at least 300,000 cars a year from China by 2030, mainly to countries in the Global South.
The German carmaker also plans to sell vehicle technologies developed in China to markets in Asia, the Middle East and South America.
South America will be the first region to use those technologies in Volkswagen's local range.
The company says it is not planning to offer them in Europe for now.
Volkswagen developed the technologies at its research centre in Hefei, including systems for a car's electronics, platform and driver assistance.
The move aims to help Volkswagen compete as it faces strong Chinese competition and weak demand in China and Europe.
The company is also planning about 100,000 job cuts overall by 2030, including 50,000 additional cuts under a deal with unions.
