Russia detains teenager after US warning of possible Moscow park attack
Russia’s FSB detained a teenager suspected of planning an attack at Tsaritsyno, a palace and park complex in southern Moscow.
The US government warned of a credible threat of mass casualties there on Saturday and shared information with Russian authorities.
The FSB said the teenager had posted photos online wearing a balaclava and tactical clothing, with an object that appeared to be a weapon, and captioned a photo of the park, “I found a place.”
Officials said searches of the teenager’s home and phone found related items and activity, including searches about attacks and mass killings and a subscription to a neo-Nazi Telegram channel.
The park was temporarily closed and events were cancelled after the warning.
Russia’s Investigative Committee is considering what action to take, while the FSB thanked the US for the information despite tensions between the two countries over Russia’s war in Ukraine.
Russian authorities detained a teenager suspected of threatening an attack at Moscow’s Tsaritsyno Park after receiving information from the United States.

The FSB said the teenager posted TikTok photos showing him in tactical clothing and holding an object resembling an automatic weapon.
The FSB also said his phone showed a subscription to a neo-Nazi Telegram channel and searches about terrorist attacks and mass killings.
