Van driver and passenger banned from driving in Switzerland after wrong-way trip
A van with a trailer entered the wrong side of the A4 near Brunnen in the canton of Schwyz early Sunday.
The 45-year-old driver had joined the motorway from the Axenstrasse and was heading toward Seewen.
After he noticed the mistake, he stopped on the hard shoulder, and his 51-year-old passenger took over.
The passenger reversed along the hard shoulder toward an exit, rather than continuing in the wrong direction.
Several drivers alerted the Schwyz cantonal police, who banned both men from driving in Switzerland.
Prosecutors also ordered each man to pay a temporary security deposit, and no further steps were reported.
