EAEU weighs more trade deals with India, Tunisia, Pakistan and Jordan

The Eurasian Economic Union is considering more free trade agreements with countries outside the bloc.

Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Alexander Pankin said two rounds of talks have been held with India, with experts preparing for a third.

The union has also decided to begin consultations on trade liberalization with Tunisia, and a first round is expected soon.

It is assessing whether free trade agreements with Pakistan and Jordan would be worthwhile.

The EAEU signed trade agreements with the United Arab Emirates, Indonesia and Mongolia in 2025.

Any new deal needs agreement from all EAEU members, which decide such matters by consensus.

Pankin said negotiations can take a long time, and there is no precise timeline for completing them.
