CXMT reports $8.16 billion Q3 profit and plans HBM3E production
China’s memory maker CXMT reported a 54.4 billion yuan profit for the third quarter of 2026, its first quarterly results since its July IPO.
The company also reported revenue of 118.71 billion yuan, up 613.2% from a year earlier.
Demand for standard DRAM has risen as major suppliers shift production toward high-bandwidth memory used in AI processors, tightening supply.
CXMT says it plans limited production of HBM3E chips within two months, but its estimated manufacturing yield is 20% to 30%, compared with 70% for rival SK Hynix.
The company spent 11.07 billion yuan on research and development in the first nine months of the year and validated its sixth-generation DRAM technology.
New factories could double CXMT’s capacity to 600,000 12-inch wafers per month, while the company is also preparing to enter NAND flash memory production.
These moves would broaden its business, but the company still needs to improve HBM3E production yields.
ChangXin Memory Technologies reported a net profit of 54.4 billion yuan ($8.16 billion) for Q3 2026, its first quarterly earnings since its July IPO.
Revenue reached 118.71 billion yuan ($17.81 billion), up 613.2% year over year.
The company said it was preparing to begin limited production of HBM3E chips within two months.
Its HBM3E yields were estimated at 20% to 30%, compared with 70% for SK Hynix.
CXMT also plans to enter the NAND flash-memory market and is funding new fabrication plants in Beijing, Shanghai and Hefei.
