Indian 3 is targeting a theatrical release in March or April 2027
Indian 3, starring Kamal Haasan, is targeting cinemas in March 2027, with April as an alternative if that schedule proves unfeasible.
The film is the next instalment in the Indian franchise, following Indian 2, which was released in 2024.
The sequel continues the story of Senapathy, the vigilante character who fights corruption.
The films were originally conceived as a continuing story, and parts of Indian 2 and Indian 3 were shot at the same time.
Indian 3 is expected to explore Senapathy’s past, including his father, Veerasekaran Balram, also played by Haasan.
Indian 2’s weak critical and commercial reception had raised uncertainty about whether the third film would go ahead.
The makers are working towards a theatrical release, but the timing remains unconfirmed.
Indian 3, starring Kamal Haasan, is reportedly being planned for a theatrical release in 2027.
The team is making efforts to release it by March 2027, with April being considered if that timeline is not feasible.
Pinkvilla also describes the target as Summer 2027.
The film is directed by Shankar and continues the story of Indian 2, released in 2024.
